Tango festival in Volda, Norway beside the beautiful fiord and between the monumental mountains of Western Norway.

Friday 31

15:00 Tango work shop with Matías González – Concert hall, University high school

18:00 Dance lesson (beginners) – Concert hall, University high school

21:00 Concert with Matías González (bandoneon) – Concert hall, University high school

 

Saturday 1st

11:30 Concert with Morten Bollerud (accordeon) – Volda Care Home

12:00 Tango work shop with Matías González

14:30 Concert with Tangolauget

16:00 Dance lesson (beginners part 2)

18:00 Dance lessons (advanced)

20:00 Milonga/Final concert with live music

Sunday 2nd

11:00 Tango service – Volda Church

The dance instructors/dancers of the festival are: Guro Hustad Stugu and Ragnhild Førde, both with tango experience from Norway and abroad.

Musicians:

Matías González, exeptional argentinian bandoneon player. His carrer is unbeleavable. He is born in 1981, but has played with a huge amount of the best tango musicians in the world, such as the orchestra of Leopoldo Federico, with Néstor Marconi, Susana Rinaldi, Gotan project, and meny more and he also has started allot of orchestras ant ensembles.

Tangolauget: Tango trio from Volda with singer. The trio plays traditional danceable tango, and this year thay performe new tangos in the traditional argentinian/uruguayan style with lyrics of the norwegian languages “father” Ivar Aasen and music by Øyvind Aspenes Robak.

This year the festival also has its own orquesta típica.
