TMD, the Tango Marathon Directory has been around since 2009, and it has evolved since then in many ways.

As an event organizer you can post your events to the TMD in the web, and at the same time reach over 2000 fans of TMD on facebook. Historically the focus has been on tango marathons and tango camps, as well as milonga weekends (such as the Chained Salon at El Corte) – but festivalitos and festivals are welcome, too. After all, it’s about events where you can dance well and much – with local and travelling tango dancers.

As a dancer you can find out about events by date or region. Please follow the facebook page so you can get new updates as they are entered into the database.

Of course, TMD is not the only place on the internet you can find out about these events: it just tries to make it easier to figure out where and when events are – you can usually find these also on facebook or via google.

Unfortunately this server had been hacked by some crazy kids who seem to get a kick out of that. The damage is hopefully repaired – but maybe there are still some residual errors in the database. Please let us know if you find anything that should not be there.

here’s the relaunched Tangomarathon Directory. It looks a bit different, but should run much more stable and reliable than the old version. One main feature you will notice: there are now more than just marathons listed. There is room for the “milonguero’s marathons” aka milonguero meetings, but also festivalitos and even the big festivals. Anyone can submit events via the submission form – but they will need to be reviewed and published by us. If you register at the site you can directly post events, and you can also edit them afterwards.

Just a note: the spirit and focused of listed events should be on social dancing of longer duration, which opens possibilities for
the events listed above, but also for “grouped milonga weekends” (like the “chained salon at el corte”).
